Hours between two times, instantly
Enter a start time and an end time and the calculator returns the exact duration in both hours:minutes and decimal hours. Subtract an unpaid break by entering the minutes. If the end time is earlier than the start time, an overnight span is assumed, so 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM correctly returns 8 hours.
Minutes to decimal
Payroll uses decimal hours: divide minutes by 60, so 15 minutes = 0.25 and 45 minutes = 0.75. The calculator shows both formats so you can check a pay stub or invoice either way.
